Kim, a native Floridian from Panama City, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, magna cum laude, from Florida State University and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Stetson University College of Law. Kim has been a Registered Nurse since 1994. Prior to becoming a licensed attorney, Kim practiced nursing in various specialties, including neonatal intensive care, psychiatric, medical-surgical, cardiac-telemetry and home health nursing.
While in law school, Kim served as a judicial intern for the Honorable J. Thomas McGrady. Kim also completed the Elder Law Practicum with the Pinellas County State Attorney’s Office and the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas County. Kim received the Alexander L. Paskay Bankruptcy Award and was a recipient of the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award.
Following her admission to the Florida Bar, Kim worked in private practice in the areas of medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, personal injury and wrongful death. Kim also worked as a Senior Attorney for the Agency for Healthcare Administration and as an Assistant Attorney General for the Florida Attorney General’s Office in the Children’s Legal Services Division.
Kim is admitted to practice before all state courts in the State of Florida and in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Kim is a member of several professional associations, including The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA), the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Kim also gives back to the community by serving as a Guardian ad Litem for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit and as a member of the Community Outreach Committee for the Heart Gallery of Tampa.
